Motivation Monday 7 – Week Beginning 07/05/2018
So I can say that this happened to an extent. I didn’t actually lose my cool at any point, I just got very fed up. I did make people aware I was feeling mighty aggro though so that might have helped. I’ve been using my bullet journal to track overall “good days” and seem to have had more good than bad so that’s a plus.
I did this one! I haven’t read much but technically I bought myself (another/a) book and have started reading it. I haven’t read very much but I’m really liking being back into reading. I intend to post a reading list and a few book reviews given my below goals for April and this week in general.
My wardrobe has had a serious tidy although in my opinion I still want to go over it again. I’ve managed to donate 4 rubbish bags worth of items so far and will probably get the same again after this weekend.
Oops. Totally forgot about this one. I’m going to try it again when I have a less crazy week and no illness etc.
So I haven’t lost any weight in the last week but I haven’t put any on either so I’m kind of proud of myself for that. I’m definitely starting to make better decisions with food and drink. Hopefully next week I’ll go back to losing more weight!
Weight update: -0.0 kg
So, I went to the gym today for the first time in over a week. I’ve had a really rubbish week with my general health so I’m glad that I’ve finally got back to it. I did my 5k 2 seconds slower than my personal best. I’m really proud of this as I had done 7 miles before that in my day. Normally my personal bests happen on weekends when I workout before I start my day properly.
Yep, totally occurred to me I haven’t done this yet. I’m also not sure I know how to either though. If anyone has any posts they could share with me about how to do it with a free WordPress account that would be wonderful!
I’m always scrambling to get various Instagram, Twitter and WordPress posts up. This being said I want to use CrowdFire to help me schedule everything. Hopefully, this means I will see better results etc on Instagram as lately I haven’t been posting and my numbers have dropped dramatically. 😦
I’ve had an idea for a fiction book for roughly the last 5 years and have written random scenes and ideas in various notebooks. (I have like a million notebooks. Don’t judge.) I want to try and pull all these together and just write something. Whether it be the draft for the whole thing or the first chapter, even the last for that matter. I find getting started with things the hardest but once I’ve started then I seem to gather momentum pretty quickly.
Off the back of my last week’s goal to start reading a book, I want to ramp this up a bit. I have started reading one book in particular and have been playing around with the idea of reading 1 fiction and 1 non-fiction at a time. I also want to read before bed to unwind rather than using my phone or watching TV as I am having horrendously vivid nightmares and suspect this may be to blame. Therefore I want to read 5 chapters of any books this week.
I’ve seen a lot of hype lately surrounding time blocking. I am always looking for ways to be more efficient and more productive. I’ve recently been trying the Pomodoro technique lately as well so expect a post on that in the future. I want to log how everything went with time blocking and my thoughts on it to put in a post!

Update My Habit Tracker Daily
I’d say this one isn’t a win but it’s close. I’ve been using it so much more than I was and have done a few new pages that I’m really proud of! I started the habit tracker on the 19th so hopefully having a full month will give me some more insight.
Do Some Overtime
I was so ready for overtime on Saturday and actually went to work super early but then the systems weren’t working properly. Given that and the fact I’d had an awful day Friday I threw the towel in before equipment got damaged… 🙈
Good Language Days
F**k no. I kid. Sort of. I did terribly at this. I’m doing okay so far today and I’ve said more than 2 sentences! It’s in my habit tracker so hopefully, I’ll get there eventually. I’ve just been very angry and upset this week so I’ve not had the inclination to try and stop. ;(
Comment On 10 Blog Posts
Done this one! I win. Seriously though, it’s really nice getting to know people and commenting on their posts. I know how much it makes my day better when people comment on my posts so it’s only fair to pay it back. 💖
I’ve been trying to make better decisions and drinking more water. It also helps that I was still in a lot of pain therefore unable to eat very much. That being said I have managed to lose 2 kilos compared to last week therefore my net loss is 1.1kg. Wooop!

Run A 5k
No further updates on this one again. I haven’t been to the gym in a little while. Not gonna’ lie I was just sad and not feeling like doing anything to be perfectly honest. I’ve got a few days off so hope to use them to go to the gym in the mornings because I find it easier to go there early.
This one sounds like it might be a joke as a goal but I’m serious. I’ve been in a lot of emotional and physical pain recently and I’ve been freaking out… This isn’t good for me. Especially given my health issues anyway.
I’m going to try and get back into meditating daily to see if this helps me remain calm.
Start Reading a Book
I’ve got so many books that I want to start reading so I’m going to pick the one I want to read the most and make a start. My progress will be documented on GoodReads. I’m trying to decide between You Are A Badass and Light is the New Black.
I want to spring clean my closet in particular. I’ve been looking into moving out and I have a million times more stuff than I need. A lot of stuff I haven’t worn in months or years. I slowly want to get to the position where I can have some semblance of a capsule wardrobe where all of my pieces work with one another.
Daily Tarot Card Readings
I really want to do more tarot card readings. I also have a few books on tarot cards and their meanings so maybe I can kill two birds with one stone! I’ve got some really beautiful cards and they really interest me. I want to look into when to read my cards and other things other people do. I’ve seen some people read one card to set things up for the month but I’m not sure?

Week 2 update is here! I can’t thank everyone who read my previous post enough. It’s done so well that I’ve had more views than last month already. It’s also really helping me stay accountable!
This one is staying but evolving. I used my habit tracker for half the week then stopped so I need to make sure I stick to it. I’ve also made a wishlist spread as well. I’m looking to add a few more collection ideas such as books to read and weight I’ve lost as well.
SHOCKER. This one stays as well. I have done better but still nowhere near good enough. I’m going to really push this one this week in particular.
Take more pictures
I bought a beautiful new camera and have been using it occasionally when I went out but I’m having issues with my rear facing camera on my phone meaning I’m now taking fewer photos than ever. I want to try and get into the habit of carrying my camera with me most places.

Read before bed and switch off
This is one that I think has a lot of bearing on my sleep and how I feel the next day. Unfortunately, I’ve gotten to a point where I can’t really sleep unless I have something on the TV. I want to try and get ready for bed a half hour before I want to sleep by and then read or plan the next day for half an hour. Any luck this will help the quality of my sleep!
This one is getting there, I’ve definitely worked harder at the gym when I’ve been recently. Saturday I smashed my 5K time by 4 minutes which I think is huge. I still need to work a lot more on my food as I’ve been indulging a little lately.

Run A 5k
As you saw above this one is going well for me. I’ve managed to make my 5k time 4 minutes quicker and I feel like it’s only going to get better. I’m going to plan a 5k training plan and put in my bullet journal. I’m also going to sign up to the 5k this month too.
Overall I feel like this week has been okay!

Those of you who know me will know that Kalyn Nicholson is the 1 lifestyle YouTuber that I talk about all the time and have followed for years. There are a lot of reasons why I adore Kalyn. She’s such an inspiration because she is a genuinely kind hearted girl who spends her time online inspiring others to be their best self. She’s in her twenties, as am I so I feel like we have a lot in common and she speaks more about being an adult and is a good role model for younger girls.

The book basically has beautiful artwork and talks about a bunch of feelings and situations and how you can get through them. It’s helped me through a lot of situations recently so if you need a pickmeup I would definitely give it a go! 🙂
Aileen is the owner of Lavendaire and possibly one of the most calming people that I watch on YouTube. She’s also one of the few people who’s newsletters I actually look forward to because they’re always so positive and helpful. She’s also very beautiful and her Instagram feed is amazing. She does YouTube videos and has a blog which focus on inspiration and helping people to discover more about themselves.
She also has an amazing SoundCloud account and is an amazing musician.
The Artist of Life workbook is Aileen’s workbook and is basically an inspiring book that you go through and it helps you to figure out where you are and where you should be going.
There’s a lot to be learned by going through this workbook even if you already feel like you’ve got it all together.
